Enter 1787 Philadelphia via the provided virtual reality Meta Quest headsets. There, you encounter five residents and learn about their lives and what they think about what is happening down the road at the Pennsylvania Statehouse (what we call the Constitutional Convention). Democracy Quest makes learning actionable, purposeful, and engaging for students by immersing them into historical moments using virtual reality. This session will be provide attendees with an opportunity to try out this new learning tool and provide feedback to both the content and software developers. This session will be led by the Education Staff from the Center on Representative Government at Indiana University and the team from software developers Half Full Nelson. This virtual reality project, Democracy Quest, is funded through a civics grant from the Department of Defense. The first of 5 modules will launch in October 2024. The team is excited to share this sneak preview of the project with our Indiana teachers and look forward to getting their feedback.
